What are Dental Inlays and Onlays?
Dental inlays and onlays offer restorative dental options for filling gaps in teeth where a traditional filling is insufficient due to extensive damage, and a crown is deemed overly invasive. A dental inlay addresses hollows and cavities between the cusps, primarily on the chewing surfaces of teeth, while dental onlays provide a more substantial reconstruction, not only filling cavities but also extending onto the chewing surface of a back tooth to cover one or more cusps. While both inlays and onlays utilize the same material as dental crowns and serve a similar function, they do not encompass the entire tooth surface like a dental crown. The Sarcee Family Dental team is pleased to offer dental inlays and onlays as a reliable and effective dental restorative solution, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
